Back in April I had the pleasure of travelling back up to my beloved Lake District to spend the day with Tom and Sarah for their Lakes Wedding.
I was so excited to shoot at this venue as it really is one of the iconic venues of the Lakes. Belmont Hall, just outside of Hawkshead was the former home of Beatrix Potter. The current owners have done a beautiful job retaining its features and homely feel. The iconic red render of the house shines so beautifully from the road at Outgate.
I met Sarah in a little cottage in the tiny village of Outgate, unbeknown to me this was Sarah's family home growing up which made it even more special. Sarahs mum was busy making the cake in the kitchen when I arrived and bridesmaids were packing confetti into home made cones made from Harry Potter books. The whole wedding was beautifully and elegantly styled.
A stunning ceremony with a slight panic as the cute page boy dropped the rings, a minor mis communication that led to the same page boy being thrown AT me during a group shot and a perfect end to the evening when the last person through the main door from the marquee in the evening missed the first drop of rain which turned into an almighty thunder and lighting show.
Highlights also include:
**A rather competitive game of throwing sticks.....
**The cutest master of ceremonies I've ever seen...
** Having to give a lift to the groomsmen as they got lost on their way to the venue
**An epic dance-off won by a ten year old.
A perfect day, with perfect weather. Thank you to Louise Ramwell for keeping me company and being the perfect photography buddy.
Thank you to Tom and Sarah for asking me to capture their day. Absolutely loved it, and loved staying at YHA hawks head too! Love a good hostel!
